| I bought my '86 GLH-T in February '98 and blew the main bearing while drag racing at Milan Dragway in Milan, Michigan in April '98. I then bought a Black '89 Daytona Shelby with the TurboII engine, A-555 trans and 16" Pumper wheels in May for only $500.(What a steal!) Notice the Ram Air intake I fabricated myself and smooth upper intercooler hose. I installed the Turbo2 engine, A-555/trans, shifter & cables from the Daytona into my '86 GLH-T. I left the T2 engine stock and added a MP '87 Daytona Stage2 computer which gives me 14.5 pounds of boost!!! I also added 16" Pumpers with 205/45/16 Nitto 555 Drag Tires under the fenders for drag racing! I use the 15" Pizza wheels with Cooper Cobra tires for the street but not to race! I completed my '86 GLH-TII just days before the SDAC 8 convention in 1998. With this set up I was able to run a best time of : 13.8 @ 101 mph |
