| Brian and Judi's '86 GLHS clone was built by Neil Hannemann while he
was working at Shelby Automobiles, by raiding the parts bins. It's 100%
GLHS down to the leather wheel & shift knob, and even sports some prototype
pieces to boot. I bought it from Neil as a street car (then his daily driver)
after he moved to Michigan. When Shelby closed it's doors, he took the
job as chief chassis engineer for team Viper and later headed the Viper
GTS-R program. A good guy to live close by, eh? My wife (Judi) and I started
racing the car at a local road course called Waterford Hills (in Clarkston,
MI) in 1996, and it's been a real blast! |
